Abstract:
The thoracic aorta of normal subjects (n=218,10~70 years old),hypertension group (n=58,40~75 years old),and hyperlipolipoidemia group (n=25,40~75 years old) were measured by the echocardiogram, showed:the beta index of the aortic stiffness of normal subjects expressed significant positive relation with age (r=\0.9734).\There was significant difference in hypertensive patients and the control group (P<0.01).But the beta index of thoracic aorta in hypertensive group didn’t express significant positive relation with age(r=0.1698) between male (n=30) and female (n=28)(P>0.05).Patients accompanied by hyperlipoidemia (n=25) and non-hyperlipoidemia (n=21) also no significant difference (P>\0.05\).Echocardiogram may be considered as a method to estimate the stiffness of the thoracic aortic in hypertension patients.
