Abstract:
One hundred and twenty-scven cases of acute myocardial infarction (AMI)in patients with essential hypertension were analyzed with a cohort of 82 cases of AMI patients without hypertension as controls. The prevalence of AMI complicated with hypertension was 60. 8 %. The mortality rate elevated obviously in the hypertensives group and was 1. 93 times that of the latter. The initial symptoms of AMI in essential hypertension were more cornplex and the occurrence rate of complications was higher.
