Abstract:
One hundred and four hypertensive patients (BP ≥160/95 mmHg)entered the randomized study for investigating the left ventricular hypertrophy by electrocardiography (ECG) and echocardiography (UCG ). The results showed 76% of the patients had UCG detected LVH, while the prevalence of ECG LVH was only 24 %. The LVMI of UCG was increased apparently in essential hypertension (EH) patients with ECG detected LVH. Furthermore, LVMI was also greater in patients with heart failure. Multiple factors correla tion analysis showed significant positive correlations between LVMI and LVDd, IVST, PWT (P< 0. 001 ).
