Abstract:
The left ventricular mass, left ventricular mass index, left potential, ventricular premature beat and ventricular tachycardia were examined in 100 patients with hypertensions and 60 normal persons. The results showed that the positive incedence of ventricular late potential(LP)was 16.0% in 100 hypertensive patients and 1.6% in 60 normal persons (P<0.001).The incidence of LP was 26.7% in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH),significantly higher than in those without LVH(7.2%,P<0.01).The incidence of ventricular premature beat(VP)and ventricular tachycardia(VT)were 100% and 58.3% in 12 patients with LVH and positive LP,respectively. The incidence of VP and VT were 66.6% and 3.0% in 33 patients with LVH and negative LP respectively. The results suggested that positive LP was related to VP and VT in hypertensive patients with LVH.
