Abstract:
To investigate the relationship between right and left ventricular(RV)diastolic function in patients with essential hypertension,Mmode, two dimensional and pulsed Doppler echocardiography were performed in 64 cases asymptomatic essential hypertensive patients.30 cases of them had normal left ventricular(NLVH)and 34 cases had echocardiography detected left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH).32 normal individuals matched in age and sex served as a control. In all 64 cases hypertensive patients RV systolic function and RV sizes were normal. In 34 cases with LVH,right ventricular early peak velocity(E)was lower(P<0.05);atrial peak velocity(A)were higher(P<0.01)compared to those of normal subjects.Rapid filling fraction(RFF)and 1/3 filling fraction(1/3 FF) and peak filling rate adjusted by stroke volume(PFR) were lower(P<0.05),and deceleration time(DT)was prolonged as well.Diastolic function parameters of LV were well correlated with those of RV.
