Abstract: We use"reactive origin therapy" of traditional medicine to treat 106 cases ofessential hypertension.The study was randomized,double blind and with placebo as controls.No significant differences in age,sex,symptoms,duration of hypertension and pretreatment BP between the the treated and control groups have been found.After"reactive origin therapy",the total effective rate was 96.2％,remarkable effective rate was 84.9％,86 cases were followed for 1～15 months after the stopping of therapy.Sustained normal blood pressure was found in 50 among them.The long term successful rate was 61.6％.
