Abstract: A randomized single-blind clinical trial as conducted in 167 men and women with mild to oderate hypertension（diastolic blood pressure 95 to114mmHg）to determine the effects of nitrendipine and captopril on life quality.After a one year treatment,we found the sense of well-being,work performance, cognitive function and physical symptoms improved in two treatment groups.Meantime,patients taking nitrendipine had reduction in scores of depression and had better work performance than patients taking captopril.
