Abstract:
Aim\ To study the anti-hypertensive action of a new coordination compound of taurine and magnesium(DAS).\ Methods\ Both the bolus intravenous and oral administration were used in the studies of the acute anti-hypertensive effects and the therapeutics effects of DAS in the spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR).\ Results\ The artery blood pressures were rapidly reduced by DAS in 10 or 20 mg/kg iv and heart rate was decreased in SHR, but no obvious effect was seen in WKY.\ The oral administration of DAS(25 mg/kg) for 10 days can significantly decrease the artery blood pressure and heart rate was not changed.\ Conclusion\ Significant acute and chronic hypotensive effect has been shown by iv and p.o administration od DAS. A further clinic study is urgently necessary.
