Abstract:
Objective To investigate the relationship between the levels of 8-iso-prostaglandinF
2α(8-iso- PGF
2α)and in obese men. Methods The levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1(sICAM-1),E-selectin and 8 iso-PGF
2αwere measured in obese men and compared to normal controls. Results The body mass index (BMI),waist hip ratio(WHR),fast plasma insulin, homeostasis model assessment(HOMA IR),and levels of 8- iso-PGF
2α,sICAM-1 and E-selectin were significantly higher in obese men than that in normal controls(P<0.05). There was a significantly positive correlation between the level of 8-iso-PGF
2αand BMI,E-selectin and HOMA-IR in obese men(r:0.28,0.33,0.31,all P<0.05).After adjustment for age and BMI,apartial correlation analysis show that 8-iso-PGF
2αconcentration in obese men was correlated with E-seleetin(r=0.265,P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of 8-iso-PGF
2αmight play importment role in change of CAMs in obese men.
