Abstract:
Objective To determine the epidemic status of hypertension in the population aged 35-75 years in Hebei province and analyze the risk factors related to hypertension. Methods Convenience sampling strategy was used to select residents aged 35-75 years in Hebei province during 2016-2017 for questionnaire and physical measurements. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze influencing factors of hypertension in this region. Results A total of 35 590 residents were screened for this study, the average systolic blood pressure/diastolic blood pressure was(138.2±20.5)/(82.7±11.1) mm Hg. The prevalence, awareness, treatment and control rates of hypertension were 50.30%(adjusted rate 45.26%), 56.54%(adjusted rate 49.47%), 49.83%(adjusted rate 42.23%) and 11.87%(adjusted rate 10.04%), respectively. The prevalence was higher in male than in female(54.41% vs 47.53%), and was higher in rural than in urban(53.10% vs 44.66%, all P<0.001). The consequences of binary Logistic analysis showed that residents of female gender, urban, lower age groups, in-marriage, non-smoking, no history of diabetes, and normal weight were less likely to develop hypertension(all P<0.001). Conclusion The prevalence of hypertension in residents aged 35-75 years in Hebei province is high, but the awareness, treatment and control rates are low. Attention should be paid on the population of male gender, rural, smoker, history of diabetes and overweight/obese.
