A case of marked discrepancy in systolic blood pressure readings measured by oscillometric and Korotkoff methods in a patient with significant hypertension following endovascular stent-graft placement in the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries

摘要: 本文报道1例腹主动脉和髂动脉支架植入术后患者，在排除臂间血压差的情况下，当其收缩压明显增高时（190 mmHg水平），示波法血压计测量的左臂收缩压数据（相差31 mmHg），而当收缩压基本正常时，两种血压计测量的收缩压大致相等。这种现象可能与患者的主动脉僵硬度明显增加有关。

Abstract: This paper reports a patient following endovascular stent-graft placement in the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. After excluding inter-arm blood pressure difference, when systolic blood pressure (SBP) was marked elevated (190 mmHg), the SBP measured in the right arm using an oscillometric device was significantly higher than the that measured simultaneously in the left arm using the Korotkoff method, with a difference of 31 mmHg. However, the SBP measured by the two methods was approximately equal when SBP was normal. This phenomenon may be related to a significant increase in aortic stiffness in the patient.
