Abstract:
This paper reports a patient following endovascular stent-graft placement in the abdominal aorta and iliac arteries. After excluding inter-arm blood pressure difference, when systolic blood pressure (SBP) was marked elevated (190 mmHg), the SBP measured in the right arm using an oscillometric device was significantly higher than the that measured simultaneously in the left arm using the Korotkoff method, with a difference of 31 mmHg. However, the SBP measured by the two methods was approximately equal when SBP was normal. This phenomenon may be related to a significant increase in aortic stiffness in the patient.
