Abstract:
Pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PPGL), as a type of neuroendocrine tumor, causes secondary hypertension and target organ damage by releasing excessive catecholamines. Recently, with the rapid development of genetic testing technologies and the wide application of functional imaging and other imaging techniques, the detection rates of PPGL have increased significantly. However, clinicians still lack sufficient awareness of PPGL-related target organ damage. This paper reviews the progress in target organ damage, diagnosis and treatment of PPGL.
