The Effect of Tanshinone Ⅱ A on Hypertrophy and Apoptosis of Cardiomyocytes Induced by Angiotensin Ⅱ

Objective To study the effect of tanshinone ⅡA （TSN）on hypertrophy and apoptosis of cardiomyocytes induced by Ang Ⅱ in vitro. Methods The cultured neonatal rat cardiomyocytes（NRCs） were treated with AngⅡ(10-6 mol/L, TSN（10-5 mol/L）and AngⅡ （10-6 mol/L）TSN （10-5 mol/L） respectively in free-serum medium for 36 h. The percenage of apoptoic myocytes, the cell size and 3H-Leucine incorporation were investigated. Results The percenage of apoptoic myocytes, the cell size and protein synthesis rate of cardiomyocytes were increased significantly after Ang Ⅱ treatment. TSN inhibited these effect of Ang Ⅱ. Conclusion TSN prevent cardiomyocytes from hypertrophy and apoptosis induced by Ang Ⅱ.
