Blood pressure fluctuations related with exercise: mechanisms and clinical advances of hypertensive response to exercise and post-exercise hypotension
-
Abstract
Blood pressure fluctuates with physiological activities. Appropriate aerobic exercise has been proven to be beneficial to cardiovascular health; however, the increases and decreases in blood pressure related to exercise have not been deeply understood or sufficiently emphasized. This article reviews the epidemiological characteristics, mechanisms, clinical significance, and intervention measures of hypertensive response to exercise and post-exercise hypotension based on the latest research progress, as a reference for clinical physicians.
