Constructing an interdisciplinary knowledge system of osteocardiology : basic mechanisms, clinical practice and future challenges
-
Abstract
This paper focused on the emerging interdisciplinary “osteocardiology” and systematically constructed its discipline system. This paper expanded the scope of its research, extended it from the local heart to the systemic cardiovascular system, and integrated multiple mechanisms such as cell osteogenic transformation, epigenetics, inflammation and ferroptosis to form a more comprehensive molecular network. At the same time, the article reviewed the comprehensive treatment strategies from precise imaging diagnosis to drug and intervention, and pointed out the current difficulties in early diagnosis and specific treatment. Finally, looking forward to the future, it was proposed that a life cycle management model should be established, and the maturity and development of the discipline should be promoted through multidisciplinary integration to cope with the increasingly severe burden of vascular calcification disease.
